- Effective September 5, 2024 all donation offers must be completed via the form below, we are no longer taking phone calls to donate items.
- It is our goal at Sofas for Service, Inc. to uplift the veterans that we help, therefore we strive to keep our standards high.
- Items–Need to be in excellent or like new condition and free from smoke, pet odors and pet hair to avoid allergic reactions. We cannot accept items that need repair, have tears or show wear or have been in houses/apartments with smoking or pets.
- Please use the form below to tell us about your donation. Donations are accepted at our warehouse on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am both days or by appointment; we will send you a map. Pick-up day (not an on-demand service, must be scheduled) is Wednesday morning usually within a 35 mile radius from our Altoona, WI warehouse. we are scheduling pickups about a month in the future.
- If after reading the guidelines below you are uncertain that your items might be accepted email us at office@sofasforservice.org. Items must be on the FIRST FLOOR or in the garage on pick-up day.
- We can always use cash donations which be given for specific needs if the donor desires (beds, gas, warehouse rent, etc.) Unspecified cash donations will be split for new bed purchases, transportation, general operating expenses and occasionally for special purchases. We have no payroll, so 100% of your donation is used for the purpose of providing veterans in need with household furnishings. As a veteran who was in a transition period, you not only provided household goods that I desperately needed, you also provided me a newfound sense of hope, love and community. Thank you greatly.
